California Calling

So, apologies that I’ve been really slack recently at updating this blog…

I had a trip of a lifetime doing Route 1 in California and the weeks since I returned I have been working tirelessly with a book editor…

Anyway, the book ‘California Calling’ will be released on March 20th on amazon.com – it will also have releases on the iBookstore as well as Kindle Fire and Google Play.

The people that are already signed up to my mailing list will have the first opportunity to order the book on March 18th from amazon.

I’m really pleased and proud of the book – I guess to explain it I’d describe it as a hybrid of travel, portrait, fashion and documentary photography – so it’s a little unique…

You can view the trailer for the book below…

If anyone has any questions – feel free to put them in the comments section and I’ll try my best to answer them.

Thanks as always for reading.
Peace & Love.

  1. Can not wait to order this book!!!! Waited so long for another book from you. I’ve seen some of the promo photos and they look amazing!!!!

  2. Ahhhhhh this is seriously cool. Have been waiting to hear something about this project. Going to order a few for friends etc

  3. I went to a really small exhibition you did years and years ago in LA (when was that?) anyway vine been following your work ever since. I’m on the mailing list so I get first dibs at this 🙂

  4. Love your work and love the video. Been on your mailing list for about 5 years! (you look hot when you’re working too 🙂

    1. You’re accusing him of selling out? Are you serious?

A photographer who refuses to have “opening nights” for the reviewers and the rich, a photographer who gave a $1000 piece of work to someone who tried to steal it – a photographer who has constantly pushed the boundaries without sucking up to the egomaniac art world?

      Sell out? really?

You’re an idiot David. Jealousy will reap no rewards!

  5. I run a website blog that reviews art and photography books – this looks brilliant and it would be great if you could send us a review copy. Thanks.

  6. Would love to visit California someday. In the meantime at least my favorite photographer has made a book about it 🙂 🙂 🙂

  7. I have a question. Do you think traveling with your friends as oppose to by yourself had an impact on the book? Thanks.

  8. Had the brochure arrive for this book. Looks really cool. Will be ordering. Question – Were you worried about the book – I ask because I know its very different to anything else youve ever done.

    1. It’s the fairest thing. People on my mailing list have been supporting me for ten years. They’ve been to exhibitions etc. It’s my core demographic. Without them this book wouldn’t be happening.

      1. Missed the bit abut the writing… Little bits. I’ve written a thanks list and a introduction. A foreword has been written for it too. The only other text is little quotes, lyrics and amusing ramblings from our time there.

  9. This trailer actually makes me rather emotional! It got to a point where I thought we’d never get another book from you! So pleased about all of this.

    1. Thanks Johnny. I guess it depends on three things… 1. the response and sales of this book – 2. sorting out current issues I have with my agency -and finally 3. the right idea coming along.
